Atmospheric chamber music during the pre-Christmas season: Mozart's variations and Christmas sounds from Salzburg. A festive experience in the opulent rooms of the Residenz.
Description
During the contemplative pre-Christmas season, a special concert in the opulent rooms of the Salzburg Residence invites you on a musical journey. The focus is on Mozart's variation work "Ah vous dirai-je, Maman" (KV 265), which is based on a French folk song and is now known as the melody of "Morgen kommt der Weihnachtsmann" (Here Comes Santa Claus). Mozart's artful variations showcase his playful ingenuity. The program is complemented by the Clarinet Quintet in A major (KV 581) in Peter Peinstingl's arrangement, including the Allegretto from Variazioni.
The concert concludes with traditional Christmas sounds from the Salzburg region, creating a festive atmosphere. The Residence Ensemble – featuring Theo Burkali (clarinet), Carsten Neumann and Balazs Moldiz (violin), Jutas Javorka (viola), and Matthias Beckmann (cello) – performs the works with dedication and technical brilliance.
