Description

In the Baroque Marble Hall of Schloss Mirabell, one of Salzburg's historically most significant concert halls, where the Mozart family once made music, works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and George Gershwin will be performed this evening. Ensemble 1756, consisting of musicians trained at the Mozarteum Salzburg, presents together with pianist Minka Popovic a program that combines classical elegance with modern expressive power.

Mozart’s early "Salzburg Symphony" in D major K. 136, the dramatic Piano Quartet in G minor K. 478, and the well-known Serenade in G major K. 525 "Eine kleine Nachtmusik" showcase the diversity of his oeuvre. Gershwin’s "Rhapsody in Blue" forms the highlight of the evening—a work that fuses classical tradition with jazzy rhythms and urban energy. Stylistic precision and lively musical dialogue characterize this evening, which brings two seemingly contrasting worlds into harmony.
