Description

In the magnificent marble hall of Schloss Mirabell, where the Mozart family once performed for the Salzburg archbishops, the Mozart Consort Salzburg presents a concert featuring works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Joseph Haydn. The program includes Mozart’s String Quartet in G major, K. 80, the Concerto for Cello and Strings in D major after K. 447, and the world-famous Serenade in G major, K. 525, "Eine kleine Nachtmusik." After the intermission, Mozart’s Salzburg Divertimento in F major, K. 138, and Haydn’s Concerto for Cello and Strings in D major, Hob. VIIb:2, will be performed.

Founded in 1999, the ensemble is dedicated to the music of Mozart and his contemporaries with great passion. Its members bring together a long-standing tradition of collaborative music-making, such as in the Mozarteum Orchestra or at the Salzburg Festival. The cello solo part will be performed by Matthias Beckmann.
