Vibrant Mozart classics meet the magic of the Viennese waltz to ring in the year. A festive afternoon filled with piano music full of elegance and joy.
Description
For the festive end of the year, visitors can look forward to a concert that unites two icons of Viennese musical tradition: Wolfgang Amadé Mozart and Johann Strauss. Pianist Emese Wilhelmy, a member of the Salzburg Philharmonic and Artist in Residence of the Salzburg Fortress Concerts, combines Mozart’s elegance on the Bösendorfer grand piano with the unmistakable waltz magic of the "Waltz King."
The program features Mozart’s Piano Sonata No. 11 in A major, including the famous "Rondo alla Turca" movement, as well as Strauss’s timeless works, the "Emperor Waltz" and the "Blue Danube Waltz." A lively musical afternoon full of charm and joie de vivre, perfectly setting the tone for the new year – in true Viennese tradition.
