Mozart's famous opera as a magical puppet theatre! Experience the magical story of Tamino and Papageno in a unique production featuring handcrafted puppets.
Description
Mozart’s opera "The Magic Flute" is performed in a special production by the Salzburg Marionette Theatre. Prince Tamino is tasked with rescuing Pamina, the daughter of the Queen of the Night, from the power of the priest Sarastro. Together with the bird catcher Papageno, he embarks on a journey full of trials that culminates in a love story and the union of Papageno with his Papagena.
The staging by Thomas Reichert is distinguished by traditional marionettes crafted in the workshops of the Salzburg Marionette Theatre. The set design, costumes, and lighting create an atmospheric backdrop. The musical accompaniment is provided by the RIAS Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Ferenc Fricsay, supplemented by the RIAS Chamber Choir and the Berlin Motet Choir, based on a historical recording by Deutsche Grammophon.
