Description
The Open Day for the Choral Conducting program at the University of Mozarteum Salzburg offers interested individuals the opportunity to experience the program firsthand. In a conducting workshop, participants can gain their first practical experience and actively conduct. A "trial admission examination" allows them to test their knowledge in music theory and ear training. Additionally, the focus is on coaching and playing piano reductions – here, prepared opera or oratorio scenes or piano works can be presented.
The program combines a solid conducting education with direct practical experience in professional opera operations. Students already work with opera choirs during their studies and gain experience at venues such as the Semperoper Dresden or the Salzburg Festival. The program is led by experienced instructors like Jörn Andresen and includes bachelor's, master's, and postgraduate courses. Graduates often take on responsible positions at theaters and opera houses.
