Description

In this ballet talk, visitors gain exclusive insights into the world of dance and the work behind the scenes at the Salzburg State Theatre. Moderated by the Managing Director of the Ballet, Armin Frauenschuh, the focus is on changing topics and guests.

At the first session, the physical challenges of the dancer's profession are the focus. Under the title "Does beauty have to suffer?", the company doctor Dr. Eva Steinacher, ballet masseur Peter Kreil, and solo dancer Chigusa Fujiyoshi discuss dance medicine, prevention, and rehabilitation. Fujiyoshi also reports on her return to the stage after a serious knee injury.

The second session is dedicated to the question of what makes a ballet work an "original". Head Dramaturg Corinna Jarosch and Armin Frauenschuh explore how much change classical works such as "Swan Lake" can withstand without losing their identity.
