Description

"Swan Lake", the masterpiece by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky premiered in 1877, is one of the most significant ballets in music history. The moving story follows Prince Siegfried, who falls in love with the enchanted Swan Princess Odette and seeks to free her from the clutches of the evil sorcerer Rothbart—a tale of the power of love and the triumph over evil. Tchaikovsky’s music, marked by emotional leitmotifs and virtuosic dance movements, lends the work its timeless strength.

The International Festival Ballet presents the ballet with a contemporary staging that has become world-famous through the choreography of Lev Ivanov and the iconic "Dance of the Little Swans." The stage design by the renowned designer Vyacheslav Okunev, who has worked for venues such as the Mariinsky Theatre and La Scala in Milan, along with the lavish costumes, creates a fairy-tale atmosphere. The ensemble is accompanied by the Festival Orchestra, a high-caliber ensemble that ensures a captivating musical performance with its precise interpretation of the score.
