Experience a magical concert in the historic Marble Hall of Schloss Mirabell. The Mozart Consort Salzburg performs masterpieces by Mozart and Tchaikovsky – a treat for classical music lovers.
In the Baroque Marble Hall of Schloss Mirabell, the Mozart Consort Salzburg presents a concert featuring works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Founded in 1999, the ensemble is dedicated to the music of Mozart and his contemporaries, inspired by Leopold Mozart’s "Gründliche Violinschule." The members boast a long-standing tradition of making music together, including performances at the Salzburg Festival and with the Mozarteum Orchestra.
The program includes Mozart’s "Salzburg Symphony" in D major, K. 136, a concerto for cello and strings in D major after K. 447, the Serenade in G major, K. 525, "Eine kleine Nachtmusik," and the String Quartet in A major, K. 169. The highlight is Tchaikovsky’s Rococo Variations, Op. 33, for cello and string quartet, performed by soloist Matthias Beckmann. The ensemble’s repertoire spans from the Viennese Classical period to masterpieces of the Baroque and Romantic eras.
