For over ten years, the Dirndlgwandlsonntag in Salzburg has invited people to visibly express their connection to regional traditions and their homeland. Across the country, people wear traditional costumes on this day – whether Dirndl, Lederhose, or a full traditional outfit – sending a shared message. The custom, which always takes place on the last Sunday before the start of school, bridges generations and showcases the diversity of cultural heritage. Whether during church services, walks, or daily life, traditional clothing becomes a symbol of community and living traditions.
