Description

Over the Advent weekends, the Salzburg Open-Air Museum transforms into a unique Christmas world that invites visitors to explore and participate. Historic houses open their doors to bring old customs and festive traditions to life amidst nature. At hands-on stations, visitors can craft straw stars, Christmas ornaments, or festive wreaths, while candle-pulling creates personalized lights. At the "Engerlpostamt" (Little Angel Post Office), letters to the Christ Child can be sent.

A Christmas maze delights children, and storytellers enchant visitors with tales and fairy tales that transport them to other worlds. A ride on the museum train, a nativity scene exhibition, and brass musicians playing festive melodies at various locations complete the experience. Traditional food and drinks such as Stachelbier (a spiced beer), mulled wine, and roasted chestnuts are available to warm the soul.
