Experience Advent traditions at the Salzburg Open-Air Museum: crafts, fairy tales, music, and culinary delights. Perfect for families with children – a magical pre-Christmas time!
Over the Advent weekends, the Salzburg Open-Air Museum transforms into a unique Christmas world, bringing old customs and festive traditions to life in historic houses and amidst nature.
Visitors can craft traditional handiwork such as straw stars, Christmas tree ornaments, or festive wreaths, pull their own personal candles, or send letters to the Christkind at the "Engerl Post Office." A Christmas maze and storytellers transport young and old guests into magical worlds, while brass musicians fill the air with festive Christmas melodies. A ride on the museum railway and a nativity scene exhibition round out the diverse offerings.
Traditional treats like Stachelbier (a spiced beer), bacon, chestnuts, and mulled wine cater to guests' culinary needs. The event invites families to experience the pre-Christmas season together in a special, historic setting.
