Description
MARK Salzburg is an independent cultural center for contemporary art and cultural education that supports young artists and provides low-threshold access to art. During this tour, Gerd Pardeller, Managing Director and Artistic Director, will provide insights into the history, organization, and diverse activities of the association, as well as its significance for Salzburg's cultural scene.
As a platform for artistic expression, MARK offers space for concerts, theater, film, readings, exhibitions, and discussions. The program is co-created with artists and visitors – formats such as the "Open Stage" enable emerging artists to present their own projects. Social initiatives like the "Community Kitchen" (a cooperative cooking project) and the "Bike Kitchen" (a bicycle repair workshop) complement the cultural offerings. Regular discussion rounds on social issues underscore MARK's role as a place of encounter and cultural participation. The cultural center is designed to be barrier-free, thus promoting inclusive participation.
