Description

This tour through the DomQuartier offers a fascinating insight into Baroque Salzburg – once the center of power of the prince-archbishops, who shaped the region as both spiritual and secular rulers. Starting in the lavishly decorated halls of the Residenz, where politics and representation converged, the tour leads to the terrace of the Domarkaden. From here, a panoramic view opens up over the old town with its domes and towers.

The Dommuseum presents sacred art treasures, including Gothic sculptures and Baroque paintings. A special highlight is the Cabinet of Curiosities, followed by the Long Gallery of St. Peter and the St. Peter Museum. Here, visitors can expect precious exhibits from the collection of the Benedictine Abbey, such as liturgical vestments, medieval manuscripts, and goldsmith works. The tour combines architecture, history, and art into a unique experience.
