Description

This guided tour through the DomQuartier Salzburg takes you into the baroque power center of the city. The focus is on the lavishly decorated representative rooms of the former residence of the Prince-Archbishops, offering insights into the political and cultural history of Salzburg. From the terrace of the Domarkaden, a breathtaking panorama unfolds over the old town – a view that has remained virtually unchanged for centuries.

The Dommuseum awaits visitors with sacred art treasures from the Gothic and Baroque periods, including paintings, sculptures, and liturgical objects. A special highlight is the art and curiosity cabinet, featuring historical instruments, natural rarities, and precious crafts. The tour also leads through the Long Gallery of Stift St. Peter and the Stiftmuseum, where valuable exhibits from the collection of the Benedictine monastery are displayed, including manuscripts, liturgical vestments, and Baroque paintings.
