Family Tour: Stories in Silk and Wool

On the third Sunday in December, DomQuartier Salzburg invites families, children, and adults to a hands-on guided tour that combines art and creativity. The focus is on the magnificent seasonal tapestries in the opulent rooms, woven from silk, wool, and gold threads. The wall hangings depict lively scenes from rural life: from the golden apple harvest in autumn to cheerful ice skating in winter. People at work, in their leisure time, or playing are just as visible as a colorful variety of animals.

Following the tour, participants create a seasonal clock that will accompany them through the coming year 2027 at home. The event offers exciting insights into art history and encourages everyone to get creative – an experience for all ages.
