As part of the Children's Rights Film Days, the film "22 Bahnen" ("22 Laps") will be shown, an adaptation of Caroline Wahl's bestselling debut novel. The film portrays the sisters Tilda and Ida, who live in difficult circumstances with their alcoholic mother. Tilda takes responsibility for her younger sister while dreaming of a fresh start in Berlin herself. However, when the situation at home escalates, the film highlights the unconditional bond between the siblings and the challenges of growing up.
Following the screening, a panel discussion will take place with Mr. Kirchner and experts from addiction support, crisis intervention, and psychosocial assistance—a key component of the Children's Rights Film Days. Topics such as addiction, mental health, and support systems for children and adolescents will be explored in depth. The event is aimed at young people aged 14 and older, particularly high school students, as well as adults, and provides a space for exchange and reflection.
