Description

In the baroque Marble Hall of Mirabell Palace, the Mozart Consort Salzburg performs works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Founded in 1999, the ensemble brings together musicians with many years of experience in renowned Salzburg institutions such as the Mozarteum Orchestra or the Salzburg Festival. At the heart of their repertoire is Mozart's music, complemented by Baroque and Romantic compositions.

The program includes Mozart's Salzburg Divertimento in D major KV 136, the Concerto for Cello and Strings in D major (after KV 447), the Serenade in G major KV 525 "Eine kleine Nachtmusik," and the String Quartet in A major KV 169. The second part of the evening features Tchaikovsky's Rococo Variations Op. 33 for cello and string quartet. Matthias Beckmann will perform on the cello.

The Mozart Consort is passionately dedicated to Salzburg's musical heritage and interprets the works in the spirit of Leopold Mozart's "Gründliche Violinschule."
