Description

The Mozarteumorchester Salzburg opens the concert season with a multifaceted program under the direction of violinist Lorenza Borrani. Together with violinist Jenny Peña, the musicians perform works by Mozart, Beethoven, Haydn, and Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-Georges. The evening begins with the overture from Mozart’s "The Magic Flute," followed by Beethoven’s rarely performed music for a knightly ballet.

Haydn’s Symphony in D major Hob. I:93 stands out for its humorous character, while Saint-Georges’ Sinfonia concertante in E-flat major op. 13/1 impresses with virtuosic solo passages. The evening concludes with Mozart’s Symphony in B-flat major K. 319, a work of elegant lightness. Rolando Villazón accompanies the evening as a moderator, bridging the pieces together.
