Experience a magical concert in Salzburg's historic Marble Hall. The ensemble Orphée performs classics by Mozart, Haydn, and Borne – a musical highlight for connoisseurs and enthusiasts.
In the historic Marble Hall of Schloss Mirabell, where the Mozart family once made music, the ensemble Orphée presents a concert featuring works from the Classical and Romantic periods. The program begins with Mozart’s overture from The Abduction from the Seraglio and String Quartet No. 4 in C major. Irmgard Messin, flute, takes the solo part in Mozart’s Flute Concerto in D major. After the intermission, Haydn’s Symphony No. 94, Surprise, and Pablo de Bornes’ virtuosic Fantasie brillante sur Carmen, based on Bizet’s opera, are performed.
The ensemble Orphée brings together musicians from renowned Salzburg orchestras such as the Camerata Academica and the Mozarteum Orchestra. With formations ranging from duos to sextets and the ability to adapt symphonic works for chamber music, it spans a musical arc from the early Classical period to the 20th century. The musicians’ shared joy in playing makes the evening a special musical experience in one of the most beautiful concert halls in the world.
