Description

In the historic Marble Hall of Schloss Mirabell, where the Mozart family once performed for the Salzburg archbishops, Ensemble 1756 presents a concert on original instruments. The program combines Mozart's early Salzburg Divertimenti in D major (KV 136) and F major (KV 138) with Vivaldi's famous "Four Seasons"—a cycle that translates images of nature into vivid music. Under the direction of Baroque violinist Florian Moser, the ensemble performs on period instruments, including a harpsichord and Baroque violins, thus unfolding the characteristic sound of the 18th century.

Founded in 2006 in Salzburg, Ensemble 1756 is dedicated to historically informed performances of Baroque works and has been internationally acclaimed for its sonic homogeneity and historical precision. The combination of original instruments and the acoustically unique Marble Hall promises a concert that brings the music to life in its original context.
