In the Baroque Marble Hall of Schloss Mirabell, Ensemble 1756 invites you to an evening dedicated entirely to the music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The program features some of his most famous works: the early Salzburg Divertimento in D major K. 136, the Violin Concerto in A major K. 219 with its operatic violin, the overture to "Le Nozze di Figaro," and the radiant Serenade in G major K. 525 "Eine kleine Nachtmusik." The evening concludes with Pablo de Sarasate’s "Zigeunerweisen" op. 20, a fiery piece full of passion and virtuosity.
Ensemble 1756, founded in Salzburg, consists of musicians who completed their training at the Mozarteum and now perform in leading European orchestras. With stylistic precision and interpretive curiosity, the ensemble breathes new life into the tradition of chamber music. Soloist Kamilé Kubiliūtė brings Mozart’s Violin Concerto to life with technical mastery and emotional depth—a highlight of the evening, where the violin shines as a lyrical voice in dialogue with the strings.
