Description

In the baroque Marble Hall of Mirabell Palace, one of Salzburg's most historically significant concert halls, works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart resound. Ensemble 1756—founded in Salzburg and composed of graduates from the Mozarteum—presents a diverse program together with solo clarinetist Marius Birtea. The program features Mozart's youthful Divertimento in D major KV 136, the Clarinet Quintet in A major KV 581, and the overture to Le Nozze di Figaro KV 492.

The highlight of the evening is the Clarinet Concerto in A major KV 622, a masterpiece full of lyrical warmth, virtuosic elegance, and musical poetry. The ensemble combines chamber music finesse with vibrant ensemble culture, inviting the audience on a sonorous journey through Mozart's oeuvre—from the lightness of his Salzburg years to the profound expressiveness of his later works.
