Description

An exceptional evening of Viennese classical music awaits visitors in the Great Hall of the Mozarteum Foundation. The orchestra of the Salzburg Cultural Association, conducted by Helmut Zeilner, presents a program featuring works by Rossini, Mozart, and Beethoven. The evening begins with Rossini’s lively Italian opera overture to The Barber of Seville, which introduces the musical world of the late 18th century with wit and vibrant melodies.

A highlight of the evening is Mozart’s Concerto for Flute and Harp in C major, K. 299. With this rare combination, Mozart created a masterpiece distinguished by virtuosic passages, lyrical melodies, and finely balanced dialogues between the solo instruments. The soloists Alexandra Piskořová (flute) and Serafina Jaffé (harp) perform this unique work with artistic precision.

The evening concludes with Beethoven’s Symphony No. 8 in F major, showcasing the composer’s cheerful and optimistic side. With this work, the Salzburg Cultural Association is already looking ahead to the Beethoven Year 2027.
