Description

In the Marble Hall of Mirabell Palace, works of the Viennese Classical period resound, interpreted by the Mozart Consort Salzburg. The program includes Mozart's Salzburg Divertimento in D major KV 136 and the Serenade in G major KV 525 'Eine kleine Nachtmusik,' as well as Luigi Boccherini's Cello Concerto in G major G.480. Joseph Haydn's Concerto for Cello and Strings in D major Hob. VIIb:2 and Mozart's March in D major KV 290 complete the evening. The ensemble, founded in Salzburg in 1999, primarily dedicates itself to Mozart's œuvre and the music of his contemporaries. The members have a long history of collaboration, including with the Mozarteum Orchestra or at the Salzburg Festival. Matthias Beckmann performs the cello concerto.

The Marble Hall, once the stage for performances by the Mozart family, is considered one of Salzburg's most beautiful concert venues and lends the evening a special historical atmosphere.
