Description

In the historic Marble Hall of Mirabell Palace, one of Salzburg's most beautiful concert halls, the Mozart Consort Salzburg performs works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Joseph Haydn. Founded in the City of Mozart in 1999, the ensemble is passionately dedicated to the music of the genius loci and his contemporaries.

The program includes Mozart's Salzburg Divertimento in D major KV 136, a cello concerto in D major after KV 447, and the world-famous Serenade in G major KV 525 "Eine kleine Nachtmusik." Following the intermission, Haydn's Cello Concerto in C major Hob. VIIb:1 will be performed. The soloist is Matthias Beckmann on the violoncello.

The musicians of the Mozart Consort Salzburg share a long tradition of making music together, including performances with the Mozarteum Orchestra and at the Salzburg Festival. The Marble Hall, once the stage for performances by the Mozart family, offers a unique atmosphere for this concert of classical masterpieces.
