Description

In the baroque Marble Hall of Mirabell Palace – one of the most beautiful and historically significant concert halls in the world, where the Mozart family once performed for the Prince-Archbishops of Salzburg – the Altenau Ensemble presents a concert featuring works by Mozart and Haydn. The internationally composed ensemble, consisting of five chamber musicians, passionately dedicates itself to the music of the 18th and late 19th centuries, performing at the highest chamber music level.

The name 'Altenau' honors Salome Alt, the life companion of Prince-Archbishop Wolf-Dietrich von Raitenau, for whom he had the palace built – the origin of today's Mirabell Palace. The program includes Haydn's cheerful Divertimento in D major and his virtuoso Piano Concerto in D major, Mozart's elegant Piano Concerto in A major KV 414, as well as his world-famous Serenade in G major KV 525 'Eine kleine Nachtmusik.' At the piano, Ines Bartha-Sannicandro will be performing. An evening that brings the masterpieces of the Viennese Classical period to life in a historic setting.
