Description

The castle concert in the Marble Hall of Mirabell Palace in Salzburg offers a demanding program featuring works by Haydn and Mozart, presented by the Altenau Ensemble. The ensemble, consisting of five experienced chamber musicians from various European nations, specializes in music from the 18th and 19th centuries and performs with internationally renowned soloists such as Ines Bartha-Sannicandro on piano. The program includes Haydn's Divertimento in D major Hob. III:3 and Piano Concerto in D major, Hob. XVIII:11, as well as Mozart's Piano Concerto in A major KV 414 and Serenade in G major KV 525 "A Little Night Music". The Marble Hall, richly adorned with stucco, provides an impressive backdrop for the concert. The name of the ensemble refers to the historical figure Salome Alt, for whom Altenau Palace was built, from which today's Mirabell Palace originated.
