Description

The Mozart Consort Salzburg presents a concert featuring works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Joseph Haydn. The program includes Mozart's Salzburg Divertimenti in D major KV 136 and F major KV 138, the String Quartet No. 4 in C major KV 157, as well as the well-known Serenade in G major KV 525 'Eine kleine Nachtmusik.' The program is complemented by Haydn's Concerto for Cello and Strings in C major Hob. VIIb:1, performed by cellist Alba Hernández. The concert takes place in the historic Marble Hall of Mirabell Palace, one of Salzburg's most significant Baroque concert halls, where the Mozart family once also performed.

Founded in 1999, the ensemble primarily dedicates itself to the works of Mozart and his contemporaries, with its repertoire also encompassing masterpieces from the Baroque and Romantic periods. The members of the Consort share a long-standing tradition of making music together in renowned Salzburg institutions such as the Mozarteum Orchestra or the Salzburg Festival.
