Description

In the baroque Marble Hall of Mirabell Palace, where the Mozart family once performed for the Archbishops of Salzburg, works by two masters of the Viennese Classical period will resound. The Altenau Ensemble presents Haydn’s cheerful Divertimento in D major and his virtuosic Piano Concerto in D major, which captivates with elegant melodies and lively rhythms. Mozart’s Concerto for Piano and Strings in A major, KV 414, combines lyrical grace with technical brilliance, while his Serenade in G major, KV 525 – Eine kleine Nachtmusik – ranks among the most famous works of classical music with its catchy themes and harmonic subtleties.

Pianist Ines Bartha-Sannicandro will perform as the soloist. The Altenau Ensemble, consisting of five internationally experienced chamber musicians, interprets the works on historical instruments, blending historical performance practice with lively musical enjoyment. An evening that brings the timeless elegance of the Viennese Classical period to life in one of the world’s most beautiful concert halls.
