Description

In the magnificent Marble Hall of Mirabell Palace, one of Salzburg's most beautiful concert halls, the Mozart Consort Salzburg presents a program featuring works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Joseph Haydn. The audience will hear Mozart's Salzburg Divertimento in D major KV 136, the Concerto for Cello and Strings in D major, and the famous Serenade in G major KV 525 'Eine kleine Nachtmusik.' The concert will be complemented by Haydn's Cello Concerto in C major Hob. VIIb:1, performed by Matthias Beckmann. (Program subject to change.)

Founded in 1999, the ensemble is passionately dedicated to the music of Mozart and his contemporaries. The performers, who also play in renowned orchestras such as the Mozarteum Orchestra or at the Salzburg Festival, interpret a repertoire ranging from the Viennese Classical period to Baroque and Romantic eras. The Marble Hall, where the Mozart family once performed for the Salzburg archbishops, provides a unique setting for this musical evening.
