Description

In the Baroque Marble Hall of Schloss Mirabell, one of Salzburg’s most beautiful and historically significant concert halls, the Altenau Ensemble presents a concert featuring works from the 18th and 19th centuries. The internationally composed ensemble, named after Salome Alt, the life partner of Salzburg’s Prince-Archbishop Wolf-Dietrich von Raitenau, brings together five European chamber musicians performing at the highest level. The program includes Haydn’s Divertimento in D major, Mozart’s Salzburg Divertimento in F major and his famous serenade "Eine kleine Nachtmusik." The concert also features Bizet’s "Carmen Suite" and Vivaldi’s Concerto for Guitar and Strings in D major with soloist Cecilio Perera.

The Altenau Ensemble specializes in music from the 18th and late 19th centuries, blending historical performance practice with lively interpretation. Program changes are possible.
