Description

In the Baroque Marble Hall of Schloss Mirabell, where the Mozart family once performed for the Salzburg archbishops, the Beija-flor String Quartet presents a concert featuring masterpieces of classical music. Founded in 2015, the ensemble, which won first prize at the 2022 Gianni Bergamo Classic Music Award, performs Mozart’s overture to "Don Giovanni" K. 527, Haydn’s String Quartet in B-flat major Op. 1/1 Hob. III:1, and Mozart’s Piano Concerto in D major K. 175. After the intermission, Dvořák’s Piano Quintet in A major Op. 81 follows. The quartet is accompanied by pianist Alba Llorach Roca.

The program offers a cross-section of chamber music from the 18th and 19th centuries – from Haydn’s elegant classicism to Dvořák’s romantic expressiveness. Program changes may occur.
