Description

The Mozart Consort Salzburg invites you to an evening concert featuring works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Founded in Salzburg in 1999, the ensemble brings together musicians with many years of experience in renowned orchestras such as the Mozarteum Orchestra or at the Salzburg Festival. The focus is on Mozart’s Salzburg Symphony in D major K. 136, the Concerto for Cello and Strings in D major after K. 447, and the Serenade in G major K. 525 "Eine kleine Nachtmusik". After a break, the program continues with Mozart’s String Quartet in A major K. 169 and Tchaikovsky’s Rococo Variations op. 33 for Cello and String Quartet, performed by soloist Matthias Beckmann.

The program spans from the Viennese Classical period to Romanticism, showcasing the ensemble’s versatility, which adapts from duo to chamber orchestra depending on the work. With CD recordings on Mozartiana Classics and performances in international music centers, the Mozart Consort Salzburg has established a reputation for itself. (Program subject to change.)
