Experience a magical concert in the historic Marble Hall of Schloss Mirabell. The Mozart Consort Salzburg presents masterpieces by Mozart and Tchaikovsky's Rococo Variations – an evening of musical elegance.
In the Baroque Marble Hall of Schloss Mirabell, one of Salzburg's most significant concert halls, the Mozart Consort Salzburg performs works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Founded in 1999, the ensemble primarily focuses on Mozart's oeuvre and the Viennese Classical period, though it also expands its repertoire to include Baroque and Romantic music.
The program features Mozart's Salzburg Divertimento in D major K. 136, the Concerto for Cello and String Orchestra in D major after K. 447, and the Serenade in G major K. 525 "Eine kleine Nachtmusik." It is complemented by Tchaikovsky's Rococo Variations op. 33 for cello and string quartet, performed by Matthias Beckmann. The ensemble musicians, who also perform in renowned orchestras such as the Mozarteum Orchestra, blend historical performance practice with lively interpretation.
