Christmas High Mass with classical music
Experience Schubert's Mass in B-flat major in a festive Christmas High Mass, accompanied by works by Corelli, Gruber, and Vierne. The choir, orchestra, and soloists create magical sounds.
The Franziskanerkirche will host a festive Christmas High Mass featuring Franz Schubert's Mass in B-flat major, D 324, as the musical highlight. The program blends sacred and Christmas sounds: Arcangelo Corelli's Pastorale from the Christmas Concerto opens the Introit, followed by Franz Xaver Gruber's "Silent Night, Holy Night" in its original version as the Gradual. The Offertory features Josef Schnabel's "Transeamus usque Bethlehem," while the Communion includes Bernhard Gfrerer's Christmas Concerto. The recessional is accompanied by Louis Vierne's "Carillon de Westminster" on the organ.
The performers include Silvia Steiner-Span (soprano), Ksenia Leonidova (alto), Chong Sun (tenor), and Yevheniy Kapitula (bass), along with the choir and orchestra of the Franziskanerkirche. The organ is played by Markus Stepanek, Michaela Aigner, and Elke Maria Saller. The direction is led by Bernhard Gfrerer.
