"HOLIDAI – FINALLY REAL VACATION" is an interactive AI theater performance by the media art group gold extra, blending dream vacations with critical questions about artificial intelligence. Each experience unfolds anew in a dynamic escape-room format—created together with the audience. The staging plays with smart home technology, crime-noir elements, and the perfect vacation, while questioning what remains of human experiences when AI eliminates all mishaps and errors.
The production, a co-production with ARGEkultur, builds on earlier works like "BORDER GRID" and explores the ambivalence of technological convenience. With risks and side effects: What happens when the dream vacation turns into a controlled illusion? The team led by Reinhold Bidner and Georg Hobmeier crafts an experience oscillating between adventure, reflection, and active participation—transporting the audience into a world seemingly tailored to their own desires.
