In Chamber Concert V, selected works of chamber music by Ludwig van Beethoven, Anton Webern, and Johannes Brahms are performed. Members of the Berlin Philharmonic interpret Beethoven’s classic-elegant String Trio in D major, Op. 9 No. 2, Webern’s atonal String Trio, Op. 20 with its radical sound language, as well as Brahms’ richly colored String Sextet in B-flat major, Op. 18, which combines harmonic depth and melodic abundance.
The program spans from the Viennese Classical period through Modernism to Romanticism, offering a multifaceted concert for string instruments. The performers are Christoph von der Nahmer, Angelo de Leo (violin), Martin von der Nahmer, Tobias Reifland (viola), as well as Ludwig Quandt and Nikolaus Römisch (cello).
