Così fan tutte by Mozart

Mozart’s "Così fan tutte" (KV 588), an opera buffa with a libretto by Lorenzo Da Ponte, is presented in a semi-staged performance. The plot revolves around a wager: two officers, Ferrando and Guglielmo, claim their fiancées, the sisters Fiordiligi and Dorabella, are unconditionally faithful to them. Their friend Don Alfonso puts this to the test—with surprising results. The work combines humorous lightness with psychological depth and is counted among Mozart’s masterpieces.

The performance in Italian is accompanied by German and English surtitles. Under the musical direction of Ivor Bolton, the Camerata Salzburg—celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2027—performs. The outstanding cast includes Thomas Hampson as Don Alfonso, Kathryn Lewek as Fiordiligi, Patricia Nolz as Dorabella, Siyabonga Maqungo as Ferrando, Markus Werba as Guglielmo, and Kate Lindsey as Despina.
