Description

The Mozarteumorchester Salzburg, conducted by the Finnish conductor Dima Slobodeniouk, who is making his debut at the orchestra's podium, presents a concert featuring works by Beethoven, Rautavaara, and Sibelius. The centerpiece is Ludwig van Beethoven's Triple Concerto for piano, violin, cello, and orchestra in C major – a unique masterpiece in music history, performed by an international trio of soloists: violinist Karen Gomyo, cellist Danjulo Ishizaka, and pianist Markus Schirmer.

The evening opens with Einojuhani Rautavaara's "A Finnish Myth," a sonorous homage to Finnish mythology. The concert concludes with Jean Sibelius' Symphony No. 2 in D major, a work filled with natural moods and visionary power, regarded as a musical symbol of a people's will for freedom under dictatorial oppression.
