Description

SOUNDS OF RESISTANCE is a decolonial and anti-racist music video session that showcases artistic voices and sounds of contemporary artivists. The event addresses topics such as anti-racism, anti-sexism, and decolonization, inviting participants to draw inspiration from resistant artistic creation. Through a curated screening and listening format, music videos are presented that tell stories, evoke emotions, and unleash critical and creative energies.

Maia Loh and DJ Salma Ali guide the evening, which provides space for mindful listening and collective reflection. Part of the session is reserved for contributions from attendees: participants can share their favorite anti-racist and decolonial music pieces or videos. Special attention is given to sensitive content and language—questions such as 'Who speaks for whom?' are central. The event is aimed at attendees aged 12 and above and takes place in cooperation with D—Arts, Decolonizing Salzburg, and The BIPOC Circle in German and English.
