Description

On the eve of Valentine's Day, DomQuartier invites you on a journey through the Romantic era. In the baroque splendor of the Salzburg Residence, an intimate atmosphere unfolds with chamber concerts, historical dances, and culinary delights. The focus is on works by Franz Schubert and Salzburg composers of his time, including Carl Maria von Weber and Michael Haydn, who capture the emotional world of Romanticism through music and poetry.

Visitors can enjoy a supporting program featuring historical games, silhouette portraits, and a candlelit dinner. Romanticism, with its emphasis on imagination and longing, left a lasting mark on Salzburg – inspired by Schubert’s visit in 1825, which revealed the city as a source of artistic inspiration. Artists such as the Collegium Vocale Salzburg and soloists like Virgil Hartinger perform the works in the historic rooms, making the connection between past and present palpable.
