Description

In the magnificent marble hall of Schloss Mirabell, where the Mozart family once performed for the Salzburg archbishops, the ensemble Orphée presents a varied program. The audience can hear Mozart’s overture from "The Abduction from the Seraglio," String Quartet No. 4 in C major, and the Concerto for Flute and Strings in D major with soloist Irmgard Messin. After the intermission, Haydn’s Symphony "Surprise" and François Borne’s "Fantaisie brillante sur Carmen" are performed.

The ensemble Orphée brings together excellent musicians from renowned Salzburg orchestras such as the Camerata Academica and the Mozarteum Orchestra. With dedication, they interpret works from the early Classical period to the 20th century—adapting symphonic pieces for chamber music and creating a unique sound experience. An evening that brings the enchanting beauty of music to life in a historic atmosphere.
