Description

The Mozart Consort Salzburg presents a festive New Year's Eve gala in the Baroque Marble Hall of Schloss Mirabell. The program features masterpieces by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Joseph Lanner, and Johann Strauss II. You can hear Mozart's Serenade in G major K. 525 "Eine kleine Nachtmusik" as well as a concerto for cello and strings. Joseph Lanner's "Die Mozartisten" leads into the intermission, followed by Johann Strauss II's popular pieces such as "Roses from the South," "Viennese Blood," and the "New Pizzicato Polka." Soprano Julia Arsentjeva will accompany the concert with her singing.

Founded in 1999, the ensemble primarily dedicates itself to Mozart's work and the Viennese Classical period but also interprets Baroque and Romantic compositions. The musicians of the consort look back on many years of collaboration, including at the Salzburg Festival and the Mozart Week.
