Description

In the magnificent marble hall of Schloss Mirabell, the Mozart Consort Salzburg transports you to the world of Viennese classical music and the golden age of the waltz with a festive New Year's Eve gala. The program features Mozart's elegant Serenade in G major K. 525 "Eine kleine Nachtmusik" and a Cello Concerto in D major alongside Joseph Lanner's "Die Mozartisten." The highlight is a Strauss fireworks display: from the lively sounds of the "Neue Pizzicato Polka" to the famous "Wiener Blut" and the "Schwipslied" from "Eine Nacht in Venedig," a vibrant arc of melody and temperament unfolds. Soprano Julia Arsentjeva enriches the evening with her singing.

Founded in 1999, this ensemble, whose members perform in the Mozarteum Orchestra and at the Salzburg Festival, among others, dedicates itself with passion to the works of Mozart and his contemporaries. Please note that program changes may occur.
