Description

In the historic Marble Hall of Schloss Mirabell, one of Salzburg's most significant concert venues, the Mozart Consort Salzburg invites you to a festive New Year's Eve gala. Founded in 1999 in the city of Mozart, the ensemble specializes in the works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and his contemporaries. On this evening, Mozart's Serenade in G major K. 525 "Eine kleine Nachtmusik" and a Concerto for Cello and Strings in D major after K. 447 will be performed. Joseph Lanner's "Die Mozartisten" will lead into a Strauss program featuring popular pieces such as "Rosen aus dem Süden," "Wiener Blut," and the "Neuen Pizzicato Polka." Soprano Julia Arsentjeva will enrich the concert with her singing.

The Mozart Consort brings together musicians with many years of experience in ensembles such as the Mozarteum Orchestra or the Salzburg Festival. The repertoire ranges from Viennese Classical to Romantic music and is presented in variable formations depending on the program. A break is included.
