Description

To close the year, the Mozart Consort Salzburg invites you to a festive New Year's Eve Gala in the magnificent Marble Hall of Schloss Mirabell – one of Salzburg's most beautiful concert halls, where the Mozart family once performed for the Prince-Archbishops of Salzburg. The program features Mozart's Serenade "Eine kleine Nachtmusik" and a Cello Concerto in D major, complemented by waltzes and polkas by Johann Strauss II, such as "Roses from the South" and "Light Blood." Joseph Lanner's "Die Mozartisten" will round off the concert. Soprano Julia Arsentjeva will accompany the ensemble.

Founded in 1999, the Mozart Consort Salzburg brings together musicians with extensive experience in Salzburg's leading ensembles, such as the Mozarteum Orchestra or the Salzburg Festival. Their repertoire spans from Mozart and the Viennese Classical period to Baroque and Romantic works, always with a focus on historically informed performance practice.
