Description

The Mozart Consort Salzburg presents a festive New Year's Eve gala in the baroque Marble Hall of Schloss Mirabell, one of the most beautiful concert halls in the world. The program features Mozart's Serenade in G major K. 525 "Eine kleine Nachtmusik" and a Concerto for Cello and Strings in D major after K. 447. Joseph Lanner's "Die Mozartisten" leads into works by Johann Strauss II, including "Roses from the South," "Viennese Blood," and the "New Pizzicato Polka." With Julia Arsentjeva as soprano, the concert promises a lively musical farewell to the year.

Founded in 1999, the ensemble brings together musicians with years of experience in renowned Salzburg orchestras such as the Mozarteum Orchestra or the Salzburg Festival. Their repertoire includes not only Mozart and Viennese Classical music but also Baroque and Romantic works. The Marble Hall, where the Mozart family once performed for the Salzburg archbishops, provides the historical setting for this evening. Program subject to change.
