On New Year's Eve, the Mozart Consort Salzburg presents a festive gala in the magnificent Marble Hall of Schloss Mirabell, one of Salzburg's most beautiful and historically significant concert halls. The ensemble, dedicated to the music of Mozart and his contemporaries, offers a varied program featuring works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Joseph Lanner, and Johann Strauss II.
The concert features Mozart's iconic "Eine kleine Nachtmusik" as well as a cello concerto in D major. Lanner's "Die Mozartisten" and Strauss' popular compositions such as "Roses from the South," "Viennese Blood," and other well-known waltzes and polkas ensure a lively end to the year. The concert is accompanied by soprano Julia Arsentjeva.
Founded in 1999, the Mozart Consort Salzburg brings together musicians with many years of experience in renowned ensembles such as the Mozarteum Orchestra and the Salzburg Festival. Their repertoire ranges from the Viennese Classical period to masterpieces of the Baroque and Romantic eras, reflecting the musical diversity of the epoch.
