Description

As the year draws to a close, the Grand New Year's Concert transports you to a magical winter world: a musical sleigh ride begins with the first snowfall, winds through snowy forests and across frozen lakes, until the first signs of spring guide the way into the New Year. The journey is accompanied by familiar and newly discovered sounds.

Leopold Mozart’s famous "Musical Sleigh Ride" takes center stage, complemented by works from Tchaikovsky, Anderson, and Delius. The Strauss family is represented with Johann’s "Snowbell Waltz" and "Winter Joy," as well as Josef Strauss’s polka "Ice Skating." Émile Waldteufel’s "Skater’s Waltz" and Johann Strauss’s "Voices of Spring" complete the program.

Under the musical direction of Leslie Suganandarajah, the concert offers a festive farewell to the year, blending winter enchantment with anticipation for the New Year.
